Tshireletso Rammutla (in the suit) is a Technologist within the Dams & Hydropower division of BKS Engineering. She is one of the industry's leading young professionals and a role-model for others.

Has anyone noticed the youth and young professionals in our industry lately? They are worth taking note of!

The media's focus on negative stories leads us to believe there is a crisis with our young leaders. We at Khuthaza are seeing something different! We are seeing great leadership and great potential from the young women in our industry!

In the past couple of weeks we have interviewed (in person for those in the province and over the phone for those outside of Gauteng) about 25 female Junior Quantity Surveyors. We have been incredibly impressed with them and believe the future of our industry is in good hands. We need to ensure that we give them the opportunities to gain experience and live up to their potential.

Today's young professionals are looking for career opportunities in which they will be challenged and given the chance to grow. They are willing to work anywhere in the country and the majority would like a mix of site and office based work.

If you are looking for Junior Quantity Surveyors - contact us.  If you were one of the young women we met with...you impressed us - keep it up!

Cheers, Liz
